CENTRAL FOODS TO SHOWCASE HEALTHIER SCHOOL MENU SOLUTIONS AT LACA 2026
As schools place increasing emphasis on healthier eating and balanced menus, frozen food distributor Central Foods is showcasing its latest innovation in convenient school menu solutions at the 2026 School Food People LACA Show.
According to the UK Department for Education, one in three children leave primary school overweight or obese, whilst latest data shows that 74% of parents have concerns about their children’s nutrition — from excessive sugar intake to a lack of fruit and vegetables in their diets.1
With schools now focusing on healthier and inclusive school meals, Central Foods will present a range of products designed to support school caterers with building balanced menus. For breakfast service, Central Foods will showcase the Crepe Cuisine Vegan American Style Pancakes, which meet the reduced sugar guidelines.
To support a healthier lunchtime, Central Foods will present the KaterVeg! Vegan Mince – a gluten-free seasoned soya mince that can be used across a variety of dishes. It will be featured alongside more options that also meet the PHE 2024 salt level targets, making them ideal for school meals.
For occasional sweet treats, Central Foods will display its KaterBake bakery range which includes the Belgian Plain Waffles that can be reheated and topped with fresh seasonal fruit to encourage fruit consumption in a fun and appealing format.
